Amelia Beltrao

Amelia Beltrao is a sports broadcaster and newsreader at talkSPORT, where she presents news and sports bulletins across the network.

Since joining full-time in 2024, she has reported from major events including Wimbledon, Silverstone, the UEFA Champions League Final and the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Sydney. She has interviewed elite athletes including members of Chelsea Women's squad and Olympic medallist Georgia Hunter Bell, and regularly contributes to live programming across talkSPORT. A lifelong Chelsea supporter, she also covers the club through matchday reporting, interviews and podcast appearances.

Her passion for broadcasting was inspired by her mother, a Sky News reporter. Fascinated by journalism from an early age, Amelia spent school holidays and half-terms in newsrooms, often accompanying her mum to work and learning first-hand how live broadcasting operated. By the age of eight, she was already pitching programme ideas to Sky News executives.

After serving as a Wimbledon ball girl in 2014 and 2015, she took her first steps into sports broadcasting by supporting Sky News' Wimbledon coverage, helping to coordinate and distribute post-match player interviews from the All England Club. She went on to study Journalism at Cardiff University before completing her NCTJ qualification with PA Media, gaining experience as a producer at Sky News and a newsreader at Radio Jackie before progressing through roles at TalkRADIO, TalkTV, BFBS and, ultimately, talkSPORT.

Tennis has remained a constant throughout Amelia's life. She first picked up a racket at the age of three through the Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative (WJTI), a programme run by the All England Club to identify and develop young local talent. Training on the grounds of Wimbledon until the age of 12 gave her a unique appreciation for the sport and a lasting connection to The Championships, having grown up watching the world's best players prepare for the tournament and experiencing the All England Club from a young age.

Combining a lifelong love of sport with extensive newsroom experience, Amelia brings both journalistic expertise and genuine sporting passion to her broadcasting.
