Alexinder Riyat
Alexinder Riyat is a presenter and dancer from London.
He is currently a cover presenter on the BBC Asian Network, and has hosted the Weekday Morning Show, Weekend Breakfast Show, Official Asian Music Chart and Saturday afternoons. He also hosts the Evening Show on Vibe 107.6FM, every Monday 7 – 9pm.
In December 2021, Alexinder was selected as one of 30 presenters for the BBC Radio 1 Christmas Takeover where he hosted R1 Anthems.
His first experience presenting radio was at Warwick University, where he co-hosted an ‘Agony Uncles’ show, attempting to answer students’ problems like the housework rota and relationship woes.
Alexinder has presented on a number of British Asian radio stations including Asian Star Radio, Unity 101, Lyca Radio and AsianFX where has interviewed some of the biggest UK Asian names including Arjun, Mumzy Stranger, Rishi Rich, Bambi Bains, Sukshinder Shinda, RIKA, Rio Jai, Tasha Tah and Kiranee.
As a keen dancer, he has also performed for the late Her Majesty The Queen as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Windsor Castle. This was televised on ITV1, alongside UK Punjabi artist Jaz Dhami as well as Gujarati folk singer Pritee Varsani. Alexinder also appeared on a special Platinum Jubilee episode of The Jeremy Vine show on Channel 5, showcasing the dance performed in Windsor. In 2022, Alexinder performed as part of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. He also has appeared in a number of British Asian music videos including DJ LYAN’s ‘After Party’ and Jaz Dhami’s ‘Notorious’ and has appeared as a dancer in Ali Sethi & Jonita Gandhi's 'Love Like That'.
Alexinder is also a travel enthusiast and vlogger. He has visited 32 countries, as part of his ‘30 countries before 30’ challenge which he set himself. A frequent solo traveller, he most recently embarked on a 9 week solo trip to Japan, Australia and New Zealand. At the age of 19, he travelled to Johannesburg in South Africa and taught in a secondary school for 6 weeks, which ignited his passion for travel. Alexinder started vlogging his trips, with longer form content on YouTube in Singapore and Bali, as well as shorter travel reel content on Instagram and TikTok which showcases travel hacks, tips and tricks.
