Jordan Blyth
Jordan Blyth is a Presenter, Broadcast Journalist, event host, and voiceover artist from the North East of England.
Rising from the smog-filled skies of Stockton-on-Tees, Jordan has dived head first into an industry that doesn’t normally showcase his gruff, thick northern accent. Constantly surrounded by music of all genres and backgrounds; while always being tugged towards the sounds of loud thrashing guitars, Jordan has built up a vast knowledge of music that he brings to life when on air.
Jordan has a wide range of presenting experience after first presenting at the University of Sunderland on their community radio station, Spark, in 2016; whilst studying a BA in Broadcast Media Production, before going on to gain a MA in Radio. After leaving Spark, he made his first professional radio debut as a presenter on the commercial station Durham On Air, as the presenter of the Sunday Night Alternative in 2020 - a specialist show with a strong focus on the up-and-coming local talent in the region from the Indie, Rock, Metal, and alternative scene.
Since then, he has gone on to become a firm favourite at BBC Radio Tees. Since starting back in 2021, he has held a regular evening slot, covered around the schedule including a northern shared show across six of BBC local stations in the north of England, and hosted BBC Upload.
Jordan has also been a part of the BBC Introducing family since 2021. After joining as the Team Assistant of the show, he soon began presenting the Introducing Tess show; before the North East shows were merged. He now covers the show on a regular basis across the North East and regularly interviews artists and relevant guests for the show. Within the role, he has hosted stages and introduced acts on stages at Reading and Leeds Festival, Soundwaves Festival, Stockton Calling, and many more.
Jordan made his debut on BBC Radio 1 in Christmas 2024 presenting the legendary Rock Show for Daniel P Carter. The show he’s been dreaming about since starting in Radio. Jordan was chosen alongside the new rally of presenters to make their R1 debuts as part of their annual presenter search campaign. This isn’t the first time he has been heard across the country. Jordan made his national commercial debut on Radio X back in 2022, covering the overnight programme.
He also works freelance as a Broadcast Journalist for the BBC across the North east, regularly producing packages for BBC Radio and can be seen/heard on TV’s BBC Look North. You can also catch him behind the microphone of a viral video on some of the BBC’s official social media channels. His reporting experience has seen him interview people from all walks of life and he can circle everything back to within his northern identity.
