Temi Jonah

Temi Jonah is Radio presenter and Music artist from London. Known for his bants, conversational and entertaining style of presenting. He can be heard presenting on Capital Xtra, weekends, 1-6am.

In his first week at Nottingham Trent University studying Bio-medical Sciences, Temi saw an Ad targeting volunteers for the student radio station and he signed up! During his time on Fly FM, Temi won the best specialist show award at the national Student Radio Awards 2013. He also worked briefly with a podcast company called Podium.me and London station Shoreditch radio. Shortly after leaving university, Temi started presenting at one of London’s premier Hip-Hop and R&B stations, Westside Radio 89.6FM, in June 2015 - Presenting the Weekday Vibe, Wednesday to Friday, 1-4pm. In May 2022, Temi’s hard work and determination resulted in him joining the UK’s biggest Hip Hop station Capital Xtra, keeping the nation entertained during early mornings, 1-6am on Saturdays and Sundays.

Temi is also a sing a songwriter in the group DutyPaid, also consisting of rapper D.C and director JMeggido. Their style ranges from RnB to Hip Hop to Afrobeats. One of their leading songs ‘Call me Oga’ has more than 35,000 streams on Spotify and over 65,000 streams on GRM daily (YouTube). They have received support and airplay on BBC radio stations including BBC Radio 1Xtra and on KISS fresh.

Many big acts have been interviewed by Temi. Some of the notable names include Amerie, 112, Nasty C and Humble The Poet. Temi has also hosted live events such as Hanwell Carnival and Hanwell Hootie always receiving great feedback from the organisers for his high energy and charisma.

Those that have heard Temi On Air will know of his ability to put on voices ranging from wild and wacky cartoonish to well known rappers and celebrities. Alongside keeping the nation entertained on the radio, with his many styles of voices, Temi also performs voiceovers as a very versatile VO artist.

Science has played a big role in Temi's life. He was born with the rare genetic condition albinism which led him to developing an interest in the area of genetics and wanting to know more. During school, at 6 years old, Temi distinctly remembers doing word searches at school such as hydrochloric acid and discovering what it was and where you find it in the human body. Temi also watched many documentaries on science and featured in albinism docs where he was the subject of how to live life as a disabled person in Britain’s Whitest Family (channel 4), Embarrassing Bodies (channel4) and Threads of life (BBC). 

Following on from school, Temi pursued his interest in science and studied for a certificate of higher education in biology (molecular sciences) and a degree in biomedical science at Trent University in Nottingham.
