Westside Talent presenters host on the BBC Bitesize tour

Presenters from Westside Talent have hosted events across the country on the BBC Bitesize schools tour. Produced by BBC Children’s and Education, the tour is designed to inspire young people to achieve their goals and help realise their ambitions.

Presenters - Jasmine Takhar, Fee Mak, Ana Her and Steve Forbes, all presented panels on the tour which included schools in Manchester, Middlesbrough, Newquay, Coventry and Yorkshire from September 2023 to January 2024.

Fee Mak and Jasmine Takhar are set to host the Dance Inspirations National Finals in January 2024. The event will feature special guest judge Kimberley Wyatt formerly of The Pussycat Dolls.

The tour finals will take place across the weekend of January 26 to 28 at VIVA in Blackpool.

DJ Kizzi will be taking over Radio 1's Soundsystem Party on BBC Radio 1 this Christmas for a special edition of the show featuring non stop anthems.

Kizzi, who has hosted shows on BBC Asian Network takes over on the show on Saturday 30th December from 7pm to 9pm.

Kizzi says: “I'm excited to be taking over the Radio 1's Soundsystem Party. It's always been a dream of mine to be on BBC Radio 1 and that will finally come true on the 30th of December on my favourite show! Get ready for a special show with big party anthems and a few surprise South Asian mixes!”.

Capital Dance is rolling out a refreshed schedule from Monday 10th October with a trio of new signings – Matty Chiabi, Meg McHugh and Zofia Rogers.

Matty, who has hosted shows on Westside Radio, Foundation FM and Radio 1, has become the new voice of weekday afternoons, 12pm – 4pm, on Capital Dance.

We are delighted to announce Jojo Silva as a new artist on the Westside Talent roster.

Jojo is a radio presenter from West London who presents on Westside Radio 89.6FM, hosting the Westside Connection (Mon-Fri, 10am-1pm) which she started doing in May 2022. Since then, Jojo has gone on to join and cover shows on the UK’s biggest Hip-Hop station, Capital Xtra.

Across the country over the next 14 weeks some of our Talent including Jasmine Takhar, Nayha, Ana Her, Matty Chiabi and Mary Mandefield will be a part of a diverse group of 35 BBC Presenters that will go into schools across the UK to share their own personal journeys and success. They will host special interactive assemblies delivered in over 700 schools.

James Stirling, the BBC 100 Executive Editor says: ‘It’s encouraging to see young people feeling positive about their futures after a challenging few years. However nearly three quarters say they want more support and advice to help them with their next steps.’

Esi is set to make her debut on the weekday daytime show on the 25 of August 2022. The daytime show airs from 1pm-4pm and is presented by Tatum. She will also present a show on a special Bank Holiday daytime line up on Monday the 29th of August.

Esi has been with KISS since since 2020 when she launched the KISS Fresh Rap Show airing from 9-11pm every Sunday. Kicking off 2022 Esi was announced as the new daytime weekday presenter on KISS Fresh, where she hosts Monday to Friday, 3-7pm.

The Launch of the brand-new Breakfast Show started in August 2019 on Capital Xtra starting with Shayna Marie and Yinka as the official presenters, with Shayna Marie also hosting her own DJ mix show every Friday night from 11pm till 1am.

Now there is a whole new and exciting vibe with the entrance from Award winning DJ Robert Bruce, after Yinka Bokinni leaves the station. Capital Xtra Breakfast with Shayna Marie and Robert Bruce airs from 6.30am to 10am weekdays from the 8th of August 2022.
